Our Background
How we got our start...
Active Health Pilates began as an idea several years ago when a vacant space became available in Lesmurdie Village Shopping Centre where Declan and Karen Coburn had their physiotherapy clinic, Active Health Physio. Karen was already running matwork classes and Pilates seemed like a natural progression from their physio business. At the time, they decided that rather than running a full Pilates studio they would run it as part of a small keyed access fitness studio which operated from the centre for 4 years. The world changed in that time and we came to realise that people needed spaces to exercise that were calming, nurturing and flexible to their needs. People wanted to exercise knowing that they were in safe hands but wanted to be challenged, engaged and wanted to leave with a greater sense of well being.

In response to these new needs we decided the fitness studio needed to change.
Fast forward to 2023 and we believe we have created a spacious, attractive space where you can exercise in comfort, in a friendly relaxing environment with hands-on knowledgeable instructors with a choice of a wide range of classes.
We believe that all of our clients deserve the highest level of service, and we are committed to providing just that.

Membership Purchase
We know that your needs change and that flexibility is important so we offer the choice of either buying a monthly membership that renews automatically (you can cancel anytime, no questions asked!) or buy one of our 5, 10 or 20 class passes to use at your own pace (conditions apply).

Pre-exercise Appraisal & Program Design
You don't need to get an appraisal before exercising however, our reformer classes are fitness classes not Clinical or rehab Pilates so if you have any specific health/musculoskeletal issues, are over 75 or are unsure if our classes are right for you, please get in touch before attending a class to see whether an appraisal is required.
